Briefing on Science Popularization in Sichuan
On the afternoon of March 12, 2013, an academic lecture on "Tianfu Science Popularization Hall - the Role and Position of Power Electronics in Energy Conservation and Emerging Industries", sponsored by Sichuan Power Electronics Society and Chengdu Power Electronics Society, was held in Block 104, Basic Teaching Building, Wangjiang Campus, Sichuan University. We are honored to invite Professor Guo Shiming, Chairman of Southwest Jiaotong University, Chairman of Sichuan Power Electronics Society, Executive Director of China Electrical Technology Society and Member of Sichuan Association of Science and Technology, to give a brilliant report. The number of lecturers reached 180.
Professor Guo gave a detailed and profound explanation on the role and status of power electronics in energy saving and emerging industries. All teachers and students listened carefully and gained a lot. Through the lectures and students deeply appreciate the wider use of power electronics, opening up a new way to develop energy-saving and emerging industries. Finally, Professor Guo encouraged the students to study their major well, lay a solid foundation, build a foothold in society, drive science and technology, and make their due contributions to the realization of a well-off society in an all-round way by 2020.
After Professor Guo's speech, the students expressed that they had learned a lot of knowledge, strengthened their confidence in professional learning, and put forward some puzzles in their profession. Professor Guo gave vivid and detailed answers one by one. At last, the students thanked Professor Guo with warm applause for his lively speech.
