The First Annual Conference of Power Electronics in Western China 

On October 11, 2014, the First Annual Conference on Power Electronics in Western China was held in the International Conference Hall of Network College of Southwest Jiaotong University. The purpose of this annual meeting is to accelerate the development of high-tech power electronics industry, give full play to the basic role of high-tech power electronics in the development of rail transit, smart grid, major equipment manufacturing and new energy industry, and to show the development, progress and the most recent application of power electronics technology in new components, new devices, new systems, new types of power supply and various latest application occasions. The first annual conference of power electronics in Western China was jointly organized by Sichuan Institute of Power Electronics and Southwest Jiaotong University College of Electrical Engineering. It was attended by more than 120 representatives from Southwest Jiaotong University, Electronic Science University, Xihua University, Southwest Petroleum University, Oriental Hitachi Company and Yingjie Electrical Appliances Company of member units of Sichuan Institute of Power Electronics. Director of Power Supply Committee, Professor Shi Pingjun, Vice Chairman of Shaanxi Power Supply Society, Professor Du Xiong of Chongqing University and other invited guests; Vice Chairman Huang Jingyue of Sichuan Association of Science and Technology, Minister Li Mei of the Department of Provincial Association of Science and Technology, and other leaders attended the meeting. Also attending the meeting were the leaders of the School of Electrical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, professors and graduate students of related specialties.

After the beginning of the annual meeting, the morning was the conference, supported by Professor Wang Jun, Dean of Electrical College of Xihua University. In the afternoon, representatives of the annual meeting were divided into three groups to continue academic exchanges in the classroom of Yifu Hall of Jiaotong University. 21 representatives of universities, scientific research institutes and enterprises who participated in the exchanges conducted 21 scientific papers, involving the research and application results of various aspects of power and electronic technology, all of which had relatively high academic level. Delegates at the meeting all reflected that they had benefited a lot and looked forward to the continuation of relevant activities.
